Setting Transfer's Priority
###########################

A transfer's priority, along with its :doc:`priority lane<transfer-lane>`, can be used to schedule when it will arrive versus other transfers active on the same server.

Priority is number from 0 to 100 used to sort transfers within a :doc:`priority lane<transfer-lane>`. Lower values are considered higher priority; i.e. priority 1 takes precedence over priority 2. The default is 100. The priority of a transfer may be adjusted at any time while it is active.

.. tip:: Priority only affects the *order* of transfers within a single :doc:`priority lane<transfer-lane>`, not the amount of bandwidth that transfers are allocated.

To choose a priority:

- Switch to the :doc:`transfer-monitor`.
- In the :doc:`transfer-monitor`, click the :guilabel:`ᐧᐧᐧ` symbol to the left of the transfer to be adjusted. This will open a popup menu.
- From the popup menu, click :guilabel:`Priority`. Enter a value from 0 to 100. Press :kbd:`Return`.

.. tip:: The current priority will be displayed in the :doc:`transfer-details-summary`.
