Troubleshooting External Connections¶
If the JetStream server is not visible to the external internet, the issue may be with the host infrastructure. Network or operating system settings may need to be adjusted to resolve the issue. Some common settings to check are:
- Is the firewall forwarding both port
8886/TCP
and8886/UDP
to the machine hosting the JetStream server? - If there’s a licensing failure, are outgoing connections to
licensing.gojetstream.io
port8885
permitted? - Does the host machine have multiple NICs that have different external IP addresses? If so, disable all but the preferred interface.
- Does the server have a static IP address?
- Is the operating system firewall blocking traffic (typically only applies to Linux installations)? See Firewalls.
- Are firewall security settings interfering with the connection? See External Firewalls.
